Trooper David Kedra was accidentally shot and killed while participating in a training exercise at the Montgomery County Public Safety Training Complex, in Plymouth Township, at approximately 4:45 pm. During the exercise a live round was accidently discharged by a fellow trooper and struck Trooper Kedra in the chest. He was flown to Temple University Hospital where he subsequently died from the injury. Trooper Kedra was the 96th member of the Pennsylvania State Police to be killed in the line of duty.

Trooper Kedra had served with the Pennsylvania State Police for just over two years and was assigned to Troop K, Skippack station.


Trooper Kedra joined the Pennsylvania State Police on June 18, 2012. He was stationed in Skippack Township upon graduation from the Academy in January 2013.

He is survived by both parents, two brothers, a sister and fiancé.


Trooper Kedra died serving the people of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the men and women of the Pennsylvania State Police mourn his loss and extend their sincere condolences to his family and friends.
