Edwin F. Haas was born May
12, 1889, at Reading, Pennsylvania.
Prior to his enlistment with the Constabulary, he served with the US Navy aboard the U.S.S.
Wisconsin from May 12, 1906, to May 12, 1910. He enlisted with the Constabulary on August 5,
1910, and was assigned to Troop B, Wyoming.
On October 17, 1924, while trying to dislodge a jammed cartridge in his revolver at Troop
headquarters, he accidentally fatally shot himself. At the time of his death he was the Troop
Quartermaster Sergeant. He was buried in Dennison Cemetery, Swoyersville.
Sergeant Haas was survived by his wife, Mrs. Edwin F. Haas, of Harrisburg. He was 35 and had
completed 14 years of Constabulary service.
