In the early 1990's a visionary group of active and retired State Police and citizens pioneered an effort to establish the Pennsylvania State Police Historical, Educational & Memorial Center (HEMC). HEMC was chartered in 1997 as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization and began formal operations in 1999.

charitable organization which allows your cash contribution

The Pennsylvania State Police is the oldest organization
of its kind in the nation, and is rich in heritage and
culture. It is the mission of HEMC to preserve its
history and at the same time share with the public the
remarkable accomplishments, historical artifacts and
documents of this highly regarded organization.

The concept of PSP-HEMC is to build a Center with three
distinct purposes:.
Historical: It will collect,
preserve and exhibit significant historical artifacts and focal points appropriate to the history of
the PA State Police.
Educational: It will serve as an educational facility highlighting
the diverse functions of the Department from its inception in 1905 to the present day, and provide
opportunities for education.
Memorial: It will serve as a
Memorial to all State Police employees, past and present, particularly those brave Troopers who made
the ultimate sacrifice while serving our citizens and upholding the law and proud traditions of the
Department.
