A screensaver (or screen saver) is a computer program that blanks the screen or fills it with moving images or patterns when the computer is not in use. Initially designed to prevent phosphor burn-in on CRT and plasma computer monitors (hence the name), Systems have a form of screensaver integrated. Most simply display a logo or image moving around the screen.

Screen-saver programs were designed to help avoid these effects by automatically changing the images on the screen during periods of user inactivity.

If the system detects inactivity lasting longer than the time specified in the control panel, check if the active program is a simple program (and not another screensaver)

The downloading of our screen savers are free for our visitors to use and quite simple to install.

Screensaver Download
Instructions

1. Create a folder on your "C" Drive
called screensavers.

2. Select one of the images you
     like and then click download.
     (If you would like to view the
     image larger, hover cursor over
     "+ view larger" below screensaver
      thumbnail)

3. Click-on [download] This will
     take you to a larger image.
     Just right click on image or click
     on download and the image
     normally be downloaded to your
     download folder, unless you set
     your settings in your browser to
     dowload files or images to
     a designated folder. If you right
     click on the large image then
     select "Save Image As" then
     download image to your folder
     you created named as
    "screensavers",
     In Windows 7 after right clicking
     on image choose install
     and then Windows will do it for
     you.

4. When downloading more than
     one screensaver make another
     folder and it give it a new name
     such as "screensaver2". You
     may download as many images
     you want but, create a new
     folder and a different name for
     each folder for each image you
     download.

Windows 7

Windows 7 Installation instructions

1. Open Screen Saver Settings by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search
box, type screen saver, and then click Change screen saver.

2. Under Screen saver, click the list, and then click Photos.

3. To change one or more of the screen saver settings, click Settings, and then do one or more of the following:

4. To specify the photos to use for your screen saver, click Browse, choose the screensaver folder you created
on the "C" DRIVE...
it will contains the image(s) you downloaded and want to use, and then click OK.

5. To change the speed which the photos change in the slide show, click the list next to Slide show speed, and
then choose a speed.

6. To have the pictures appear in a random order, select the Shuffle pictures check box.

7. Click Save to save the setting changes you made. Click OK in the Screen Saver Settings dialog box.

The next time your screensaver starts, you’ll see the picture you selected from your "Screensaver Folder

Windows 8

Windows 8 Installation instructions

1. Open Personalization by swiping in from the right edge of the screen, tapping Search (or if you're using a mouse,
    pointing to the upper-right corner of the screen, moving the mouse pointer down, and then clicking Search),
    entering Personalization in the search box, tapping or clicking Settings, and then tapping or clicking
    Personalization.

Tip

On the desktop, you can press and hold or right-click the desktop, then tap or click Personalize to open Personalization.

In Personalization in Control Panel, there are four types of themes.

My Themes. Themes that you've created, made changes to, saved, or downloaded. Any time you change a theme, the new settings appear here as an unsaved theme.
Windows Default Themes. Windows themes you can use to personalize your PC. Most of them include a desktop background slide show.
Installed Themes. Themes that were created by your PC manufacturer or other non-Microsoft providers.
High Contrast Themes. Themes that make items on your screen easier to see. The High Contrast themes don't include automatic window border colors or desktop background slide shows.

Creating themes

You’re not limited to the themes that come with Windows—you can create customized themes using your own pictures and screen savers, and choose the colors and sounds that go along with them. To get started, tap or click any theme to apply it to your desktop. Then change each part of the theme until the desktop background, window border color, sounds, and screen saver are just how you want them to be. All of your changes will appear under My Themes as an unsaved theme.

To create a theme

2. To change the desktop background, tap or click Desktop Background at the bottom of the page, browse to the
pictures you want to use, select the check boxes for the pictures that you want to include in your slide show,
and then tap or click Save changes.

3. To change the color of your window borders and taskbar, tap or click Color at the bottom of the page, and then do one of the following:

4. Tap or click Automatic to let Windows choose a color automatically based on the colors in your desktop
    background picture, and then tap or click Save changes.
    – or –
   Tap or click the color that you want to use, and then tap or click Save changes.

5. To add or change a screen saver, tap or click Screen Saver at the bottom of the page, tap or click an item in
    the Screen saver list, change any settings to suit your preference, and then tap or click OK.

Tip

In File Explorer, you can select pictures you want to use in a theme, press and hold or right-click them, and tap or click Set as desktop background to create an unsaved theme. Then open Personalization in Control Panel to make changes to the theme and save it.

Once you're happy with the way your new theme looks and sounds, save it so you can use it any time.

To save a theme

1. Open Personalization by swiping in from the right edge of the screen, tapping Search (or if you're using a mouse, pointing to the upper-right corner of the screen, moving the mouse pointer down, and then clicking Search), entering Personalization in the search box, tapping or clicking Settings, and then tapping or clicking Personalization.

2. Under My Themes, tap or click your unsaved theme to apply it to the desktop.

3. Tap or click Save theme.

4. Enter a name for your theme, and then tap or click Save.

5. The new theme name will appear under My Themes.

Windows XP

Windows XP Installation instructions

1. Right-click the desktop, and then click Properties.

2. In the Display Properties dialog box, click the Screen Saver tab. Then, click the Screen saver list, and click My
    Pictures Slideshow. Click on settiings and browse and goto the folder you named "Screensaver" and click on the
    picture you wish to use as your screensaver. While in the mY pICTURES Screen Saver Options you may make
    your preferred settings.

3. When finished click on OK to save the settings.

4. You will return to the Screen saver Tab and you make additional settings for your screensaver.

5. When finished click on OK to save the settings.

The next time your screensaver starts, you’ll see the picture you selected from your "Screensaver Folder

• How do I change screensaver in Windows7?

1. Open Screen Saver Settings by clicking the Start button clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance
and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Screen Saver.

2. Under Screen saver, in the drop-down list, click the screen saver you want to use.

3. Click Preview to see what your chosen screen saver will look like.

4. Click OK.

Note

If you choose to have a fitted or centered picture as your desktop background, you can also frame your picture with a color background. Under Picture position, click Fit or Center. Click Change background color, click a color, and then click OK.

• How Do I change my desktop background (wallpaper)?

The information in this Help topic doesn't apply to Windows 7 Starter. Windows 7 Starter comes with one desktop background, which can't be changed or customized. If you aren't sure which edition of Windows 7 you have, see Find which edition of Windows 7 you are using. Your desktop background (also called wallpaper) can be a digital picture from your personal collection, a picture that comes with Windows, a solid color, or a picture framed with a color. You can choose one image to be your desktop background or you can display a slide show of pictures. For more information, see Create a desktop background slide show and Make changes to your desktop background slide show.

To change the desktop background

1. Open Desktop Background by clicking the Start button and clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type
desktop background, and then click Change desktop background.

2. Click the picture or color that you want to use for your desktop background.

    If the picture you want to use isn't in the list of desktop background pictures, click an item in the Picture
    location list to see other categories, or click Browse to search for the picture on your computer. When you
    find the picture that you want, double-click it. It will become your desktop background.
   Look for pictures in other locations on your computer

3. Under Picture position, click the arrow and choose whether to crop the picture to fill the screen, fit the picture
    to the screen, stretch the picture to fit the screen, tile the picture, or center the picture on the screen, and
    then click Save changes.

Note

If you choose to have a fitted or centered picture as your desktop background, you can also frame your picture with a color background. Under Picture position, click Fit or Center. Click Change background color, click a color, and then click OK.

Tip

To make any picture stored on your computer (or a picture you are currently viewing) your desktop background, right-click the picture, and then click Set as Desktop Background.
