 |
The Pennsylvania State Police Historical,
Educational and Memorial Center will provide exhibits and displays of significant
Pennsylvania State Police historical events. The museum will showcase collections of
artifacts and historical documents spanning the 100 years of Pennsylvania State Police
history and service to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
|
Educational
Function
 |
The museum display area will also have a
memorial library of official records and reports, as well as other documents and extensive
photographic records which will serve as an invaluable research center for anyone studying
the Pennsylvania State Police.
The facility will someday aid in administering job fairs for the recruitment of qualified
candidates for civilian and enlisted positions in the Pennsylvania State Police. There
will be information provided on the diversity in law enforcement career opportunities in
the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. |
| |

|
The facility will someday provide space for an
educational, training and a research center with state-of-the-art classroom for
special programs and lectures.
Group tours and field trips will be hosted for school students. Hands on exhibits and
interactive displays will be focused toward teaching safety and high morals to youth, and
audio and video recordings of police activities will allow children and visitors to
experience police operations.
The Center will provide guidance to assist community members that are interested in
developing and participating in crime prevention programs. The Center will provide
opportunities for fostering understanding between the citizens of the Commonwealth and
their State Police agency.

Memorial Function
 |
| A Memorial dedicated to those who gave their
lives in the line of duty will be one of the prominent features of the Museum. A
"Wall of Honor" constructed of polished black granite bricks will recognize
Troopers, both active duty and retired, who on a daily basis have faithfully performed
courageous and heroic acts serving the citizens of the Commonwealth. This wall will also
recognize civilian employees who faithfully served their troopers and the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania. |
